HEAVEN MOVES SUMMER DANCE INTENSIVE
Join us for four days of connecting, growing, worshiping, and sweating together. We are excited to present the dance event of the year—Heaven Moves SDI. If you have searched for a local Christian dance intensive in Florida to no avail, look no further. This is it.
During Heaven Moves SDI, we are going to take a deep dive into why we were made to MOVE with the living God. We will worship together through technique, dance electives, choreography, and prophetic improvisation. We will have teachers on staff who have been doing this for over fifteen years and have traveled around the world using dance to serve the Kingdom, sharing their knowledge with us.
This is the perfect environment for you and your team to take that extra step of training the vessel of the body for the glory of God! If you are in Florida or nearby, please come participate! The dream is to continue to connect the Christian dance community along the East Coast.
If you are a beginner: The intensive is OPEN for YOU! There will be two levels. So if you have little to no dance training, you are encouraged to join us. We wanted to make a space where you could grow and learn for an affordable price.
If you have technical training: The intensive levels will be divided so you still have a challenging and technical environment to enjoy, both for choreography and technique classes. Make sure to include your level on your registration form!

To those taking the full program, every class below is included in your package. Daytime classes are closed to those only participating in the Night Sessions.
2:30 PM
Devotional & Spiritual Practice
To start the dance day, we will always have some time of worship. Along with this, we will be learning about the connection between our bodies and Heaven. This is a class where you will learn more about movement, ministry, connecting with God, and be able to put that into practice.

Technique Class
The technique class given will be either ballet or contemporary. This class will be split into levels so everyone has the right fit for them.

Choreography
We have our wonderful choreographers this year setting two pieces on the students. You will be assigned to one choreography that you will learn all week. This piece will then be performed on Saturday night for our Heaven Moves Showcase.

Dance Improvisation
In this class, you will learn improvisation techniques, contact improvisation, and non-traditional partner work with an emphasis on weight sharing. You will leave with tools that will help you build your own choreography and boost your confidence while improvising on the spot.

Spiritual Practice
This class is foundational to this program. In this session, you will hear from our teachers about the theology of movement. We will learn about the connection between worship and dance, how to flow as teams, and how to expand your own movement practices with the Lord. Then we will put it into ACTION and all practice together!

Elective Class
In this block of classes, you will be able to choose from one of many interesting technique classes! We will be offering jazz, hip hop/house, contact improvisation and choreography composition as some electives you will be able to choose to attend.
9:00 PM
Connect Time
To end the day, connect for a while, share testimonies, and give instructions for the next day. This is an intentional space left here to allow the Holy Spirit to move and for community to grow.
